Furniture Prototype Project
What's the Project...?
This project is to build and design a flat packed constructed furniture with the freedom of purpose. So, for my design thinking, I wanted to create something fascinating to look at, functional and usable to different entertainment settings.
The main objective is to find efficient ways to store or feature different ideas for tables. My design is based on storing Wine for clients that live in small living areas.

Context
The product appeals to new home buyers, young mature age, interested in wine or like the luxury of having wine. The critical feature of storing wine on the table is minimising storage in small areas that have the element of a ‘delighter’ towards the entertainment among friends and family.
Design to Manufacture
The product design considerations are to utilize CNC machining to streamline the process of Manufacture. Relations for a CNC router (3 -axis) with sheet material board of 2400mm X 1200mm, using 18mm thick Birch premium plywood material. One sheet considerations make the frame's major construction for cycle times to reduce and overall efficiency.
Using a 9mm (2400 X 1200mm) board for the structural parts of the Wine rack. The leaver arm parts for the functioning slider mechanisms are off the shelve parts. The slider is bought off shelve (parts are common considerations for the kitchen cabinets industry).
There may be post-machining by using a jig to pinpoint screws and dowels for assembly. The finishing opportunities are Sanding for overall surface quality and later cleaning for varnishing. Japan stain Black or maple style varnish available.
